I am back from a safari in Kenya. Nice country, nice weather and a lot of animals. Now, I have to readapt to the cold :-(

Hehe! I have a new toy; A Sigma 170-500mm F5-6.3 DG for my KM Dynax 7D.

1.3 Kg and 32cm long in 500mm mode. To simplify, I have a bigger and longer one than any of my colleagues :-)

This is not the kind of lens you use during familly reunion or as tourist but it should be handy during the safari I am planning in Africa.

I just added the support for multiple languages (Engligh & French).

I do not have pages in french yet but the system seems to work.

I gave a presentation at the CoSy Community Gathering yesterday in Amsterdam.

The second day was on a boat cruising the Amsterdam's canals. Nice idea but we did not have too much time to enjoy the trip.

The program was shorter than last year. That was fortunate because I did not sleep much the previous night. That was not so much that I was nervous but the hotel was so noisy! I will clearly not recommand the IBIS in Amsterdam.

Well! The site was down for a few days because a bug in CMSMS corrupted the database.

I never liked the idea of storing my complete web site on a remote database so I decided to stop my experiment with CMSMS and to write my own content managment system (CMS) in PHP using the Smarty engine, which is also used by CMSMS.

After a few days of work, I now have most of the features I was looking for:

• No database. Each page is controled by a single file that I can edit and upload from my pc.
• A flexible menu system.
• A pure CSS template that should look well with all font sizes.
• No javascript, no cookies and other inventions of Big Brother :-)

The template still need a bit of work and some pages are still missing but the overall system is already usable. Please use the contact form to report problems (broken links, ...).

Also, the CSS template is mostly tested on Linux (with Mozilla/Firefox and Konqueror) so other non-standard browsers may have problems.

Coming soon:

• Some navigation links (prev, next, up, ...).
• Multi-language support (Engligh & French).
• A login for accessing some private parts of the site.
• A blog (maybe).
• A section with moreopen-source projects.
